The Adelaide Cobras kicked off their Premier League campaign with a hard fought 1-1 draw away to the Panthers in blustery conditions. Kicking with the assistance of a strong breeze in the first half, the Cobras took control and should have gone ahead through Karittevlis however he was denied after the Panthers keeper pullled off an excellent save.

With Ibrahim and Karittevlis pulling the strings through the centre of the park it was only a matter of time before the Cobras hit the lead. They did so after 23 minutes, Katuka crossed the ball from the right and found new boy Daniel Tsagouris who made no mistake.
